Intramural myoma

Intramural myoma

Question: Mila, (Lebanon) May 25, 2009

im a contract worker. mgmula ng sbhn ng doctor ko s obgyne may intramural myoma me 2.5 cm ay nmamayat me. hnd me bnbgyan ng gmot dahl hnd ko raw kailngan treatmen. ano mganda kong gawin pls help me

Answer:

Hi Mila,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medical Care:

Tuberculosis

Question: Rhea, Philippines (May 23, 2009)

Answer:

Dear Rhea,

The sooner you see a doctor, the sooner the source of the problem can be isolated and proper treatment can be initiated.

Salamat sa iyong tanong.

DNA Paternity Test

Question: Lito (South Korea), May 18, 2009

magkano ho ba mgagastos sa DNA test at pwede nyo po b akong matulungan . thankz n god bless

Answer:

Hi Lito,

Thank you for your question on the costs for a DNA Paternity test.

Maraming salamat,

Answer:
We will check again if there may be other hospitals that do these tests at a lower cost. Maraming salamat.

Answer:

Dear Milez,

This sounds like an allergic reaction.

Question: Emer (Ras AlKhaimah, UAE), May 17, 2009

Dear Doctor,

Answer:

Dear Emer,

Answer:

Dear Grace,

Pubic Hair

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medical Care:
Buhok sa Pribadong Bahagi ng Katawan ng Babae
(Pubic Hair)

Question: Yllana (Philippines), May 8, 2009

Answer:

Dear Yllana,

Thank you for your very unique question. Let me first commend you and your husband for your consideration of each other's preferences and for making this decision together as a couple.

First of all, pubic hair serves the function of keeping a layer of air between your genital area and your underwear. Removing all or even some of the hair means that you should wear underwear made of "breathable" material such as cotton or silk in order to prevent the irritation and itchiness that you were describing.

Secondly, there is a proper way of shaving off pubic hair. One method according to Howtogetridofstuff.com is as follows:
  1. Take a Long, Hot Bath - Soaking in hot water will soften up both your skin and hair. Gently exfoliate the area you are about to shave using a loofah or exfoliating pad to remove dead skin.
  2. Trim - Using either scissors or a trimmer, cut your pubic hair as short as you can. This will make shaving easier, shaving long hair will cause your razor to become clogged.
  3. Lubricate - Using hair conditioner (shaving creams and gels work, but conditioner works better), lather up the area to be shaved.
  4. Shave - With one hand pull the skin tight, with the other slowly and deliberately shave off your pubic hair moving in the direction of hair growth, not against. Always use a new razor each and every time you do this. Pubic hair is thick and will dull a blade after just one shave, and using a dull blade can be painful. Clean the razor after every stroke by repeatedly tapping it against the side or bottom of the bowl and then visually inspect it to make sure it's clean before continuing. If you need to go back over an area, first apply a fresh layer of lubricant.
  5. Post-Shave - After you’ve finished shaving, lightly rub an ice cube over the skin you shaved to close up your pores and then pat the area dry with a clean towel. Apply a unscented moisturizer to the area to help soothe the freshly shaved skin.
When you are first getting used to shaving, you should shave only once every few days – wait for the irritation from the last shave to heal before you shave again. With every successive shave, the irritation should lessen until it stops altogether. After shaving, wear a long shirt or boxer shorts to let the area breathe – only wear loose, breathable fabrics. You will find that a close shave will last anywhere from 1-3 days and will begin to itch as it grows back if you don’t shave it regularly. Not everyone has the skin for shaving, if you find that you have a real problem with irritation or ingrown hairs then you should consider a close trim instead. It will still look and feel clean but without all of the pain.

An alternative to shaving is waxing, the effects of which last longer. You can consult a spa or wellness center near you for details on this method.

I hope that this was helpful to you. Thank you again for your question.

Pregnancies and Birth Control

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medical Care:
Pregnancies, Birth Control

Question: Rose, Philippines (May 5, 2009)

-----------------
Answer:

Dear Rose,

There are several birth control methods that you can use.

I'm sure you're familiar with abstinence and rhythm, which are the only methods accepted by the Catholic church. Another method is the use of contraceptive pills, which you can start using the month before your husband comes home. There are many widely available brands. You can also use "barrier methods" such as the condom and the diaphragm. They are very effective when used properly. Consider also methods that require minor surgical procedures such as intrauterine device (IUD) insertion, bilateral tubal ligation for you, and vasectomy for your husband. The latter two will require signed agreements from both spouses.

Discuss these and other options with your obstetrician-gynecologist, who knows your pregnancy and birth history, and who is best equipped to advise you on the best method for your purposes.

Thank you for your question.

Preventing Pimples

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medical Care:
Paano Maiwasan ang Pimples

Question: Grace, (Oman) April 27, 2009

Ano po ba makakatulong na vitamins para maiwasan ang pimples and maging maganda ang skin at pwede po i-take kc nagpipills po ako (althea pills). Thank you very much and God bless.

-------------------------

Answer:

Dear Grace,

Avoiding and preventing acne can be accomplished by following a few simple steps.
--First is observing proper hygiene and keeping your skin clean by washing with a mild cleanser no more than twice a day. Over-washing can lead to breakouts.
--Avoid using harsh scrubs or alcohol-containing cleansers which can lead to dryness and irritation of the skin. If you do have breakouts, avoid popping them because this can cause further infection. A healthy and balanced diet precludes the need for vitamin supplements to prevent acne.
--Look for foods rich in vitamins A, B, and E, as well as zinc. These foods include green leafy vegetables, orange and yellow-colored fruits, whole grains, fish, eggs, and nuts.
--Avoid stress in your daily lifestyle if possible. A good way to reduce stress is through regular exercise.
--Your use of contraceptive pills is actually one way to help control skin breakouts, so continue using it.
If you have severe acne problems, it is still best to visit a certified dermatologist for better management and further advise on prevention strategies.

Thank you for your question.
